INTOO was pleased to support London HR Connection at its live networking event, Burnout and the Personal and Professional Implications for HR.

The event took place at BMA House in London on Thursday 2 October 2025. It brought HR leaders and wellbeing professionals together to discuss the growing challenge of burnout in the workplace.

Exploring burnout in the workplace

Burnout continues to be a major concern for organisations. As a result, HR teams are often expected to support employees, guide managers and help shape practical wellbeing initiatives.

However, HR practitioners can also face the same pressures they are trying to manage. This creates an important question for organisations. How can HR support others while also protecting their own wellbeing?

Supporting HR practitioners

The discussion explored the personal and professional impact of burnout on HR leaders. It also considered the wider pressures that can increase stress at work.

These pressures include economic uncertainty, job insecurity, organisational change and rising expectations around employee wellbeing.

Because of this, the event offered a timely opportunity to discuss how organisations can take a more proactive approach to burnout. It also encouraged open conversation about the support HR teams need.

Expert panel discussion

The event featured a panel of HR, wellbeing and business leaders. Together, they shared insight into the challenges facing senior HR professionals and the practical steps organisations can take.

The panel included:

  • Siobhán Sheridan, Chief People Officer at the Financial Conduct Authority
  • Laila Ngo, HRBP Function Lead at BAT Digital Business Solutions
  • Rod Jones, Interim COO and change leader
  • Matt Willcox, Managing Director at Marks Sattin
  • Owen Morgan, Managing Director at INTOO

The discussion was moderated by Craig McCoy, Chair of London HR Connection.

A valuable in-person event

As well as the panel discussion, the event gave attendees the chance to network face to face. This created space for open conversation, shared experiences and practical insight.

For INTOO, it was a valuable opportunity to contribute to an important discussion. Burnout, wellbeing and workplace resilience remain key issues for HR leaders and the organisations they support.
